ग्रामर जानना और ग्रामर इस्तेमाल करना अलग कौशल हैं। बहुत से लोग नियम रटकर टेस्ट के सवाल सही कर लेते हैं, पर बोलते समय वही ढाँचा नहीं बना पाते — क्योंकि टेस्ट सोचने का समय देता है और बातचीत नहीं देती।
- आगे बढ़ने से पहले एक विषय पूरा कीजिए। आधे-अधूरे पाँच विषयों से वह एक विषय ज़्यादा कीमती है जो सचमुच आपका हो।
- गलत हुए सवाल नोट कीजिए और हफ़्ते भर बाद दोबारा हल कीजिए। पहली बार में सही हो जाना यह साबित नहीं करता कि आपने सीख लिया।
- उस ढाँचे को किसी वाक्य में ज़ोर से बोलिए। कोई नियम तभी आपका बनता है जब वह आपकी ज़बान से निकल चुका हो।
