Come funziona la Part 2: L'esaminatore ti consegna un cartoncino. Hai un minuto per prepararti e prendere appunti, dopodiché parli per due minuti senza interruzioni. L'esaminatore non reagirà né ti incoraggerà — è normale e non significa che stai andando male.

Le 20 card qui sotto provengono dalla banca d'esame di TalkSmart e seguono la stessa struttura del test reale: un argomento con quattro spunti, l'ultimo dei quali è sempre "and explain why". Sotto ogni card troverai le domande di discussione di Part 3 che emergono da quell'argomento nell'esame reale.

Come riempire i due minuti

L'errore più comune è affrontare di corsa i quattro spunti e finire in quaranta secondi. Il cartoncino è una struttura, non una lista di controllo. Dedica circa trenta secondi a ogni spunto e aggiungi un esempio concreto per ciascuno.

2. Describe a skill you learned as an adult

You should say:

  • how difficult it was

3. Describe a journey you remember well

You should say:

  • where you went
  • who you travelled with
  • what happened during the journey
  • and explain why you remember it

4. Describe a website or app you find useful

You should say:

  • what it is
  • how often you use it
  • what you use it for
  • and explain why you find it useful

5. Describe an important decision you made

You should say:

  • what the decision was
  • when you made it
  • who helped you
  • and explain why it was important

6. Describe a place where you like to relax

You should say:

  • where it is
  • how often you go there
  • what you do there
  • and explain why it helps you relax

7. Describe a book or film that made an impression on you

You should say:

  • what it was about
  • when you read or watched it
  • what happened in it
  • and explain why it made an impression

8. Describe a time someone helped you

You should say:

  • who helped you
  • what the situation was
  • what they did
  • and explain why their help mattered

9. Describe a goal you achieved

You should say:

  • what the goal was
  • how long it took
  • what you had to do
  • and explain why you are proud of it

10. Describe a piece of news you found interesting

You should say:

  • what the news was about
  • where you heard it
  • who you discussed it with

Perché il Part 3 è diverso

Il Part 2 è personale — parli della tua vita. Il Part 3 è astratto: l'esaminatore ti chiede di ragionare sul lato sociale dello stesso argomento. Dopo un cue card su "una persona che ti ha influenzato", si discute di chi stabilisce cosa rende qualcuno un modello da seguire. In questa fase l'esaminatore ti sfida e ti chiede di difendere il tuo punto di vista. Essere in disaccordo è lecito e non ti costa nulla, purché tu motivi le tue opinioni.
