Как слова запоминаются
Беда заучивания списков в том, что вы начинаете узнавать слова, но не можете ими пользоваться. Читаете слово и думаете «знаю», а в разговоре оно так и не всплывает. Это два разных вида памяти.
- Учите слово в предложении, а не отдельно. Слово само по себе — ярлык без контекста.
- Интервальное повторение обязательно. С одной встречи слово не выучишь: нужно встретить его снова через день, через неделю, через месяц.
- Активное употребление сильнее пассивного узнавания. Составьте предложение с новым словом в тот же день, когда его встретили.

Какие уровни охватывает тест на словарный запас?
Все шесть уровней CEFR от A1 до C2. На каждом уровне — свои слова с определениями на английском.
Почему подсказки на английском?
Потому что, выучив слово через перевод, вы не научитесь им пользоваться. Понять значение по английскому определению труднее, но именно благодаря этому слово будет под рукой, когда вы говорите.
Сколько слов нужно знать?
Примерно 2 000 слов хватает для повседневного общения, 5 000 — чтобы читать газету, около 8 000 — для академических текстов. Важнее количества — умение пользоваться теми словами, что у вас есть.
