실제 시험 형식으로 구성된 cue card로, 각 카드에는 시험관이 이어서 물어볼 수 있는 심화 Part 3 질문이 함께 제공됩니다.
Part 2 진행 방식: 시험관이 카드를 건네줍니다. 1분 동안 준비하고 메모를 작성한 뒤, 방해받지 않고 2분 동안 말해야 합니다. 시험관은 반응을 보이거나 격려하지 않는데, 이는 정상적인 상황이며 답변이 잘못되고 있다는 의미가 아닙니다.
아래의 카드 20개는 TalkSmart의 시험 문제 은행에서 가져온 것으로, 실제 시험과 동일한 구조를 따릅니다. 하나의 주제와 네 개의 프롬프트로 구성되며, 마지막 프롬프트는 항상 "and explain why"입니다. 각 카드 아래에는 실제 시험에서 해당 주제를 바탕으로 이어지는 Part 3 토론 질문도 함께 수록되어 있습니다.
2분을 채우는 방법
가장 흔한 실수는 네 개의 프롬프트를 너무 빠르게 훑고 40초 만에 끝내버리는 것입니다. 카드는 체크리스트가 아니라 틀(frame)입니다. 각 프롬프트에 약 30초씩 할애하고, 각각에 구체적인 예시를 하나씩 추가하세요.
- 준비 시간에 문장을 쓰지 마세요. 핵심 키워드만 적으세요. 문장을 쓰면 소리 내어 읽게 되고, 이는 유창성 점수를 깎아먹습니다.
- 마지막 프롬프트는 절대 건너뛰지 마세요. "Explain why"는 핵심 채점 항목으로, 의견과 이유를 함께 요구합니다.
- 시간이 다 되어도 말하던 문장은 끝까지 마무리하세요. 시험관이 말을 멈추게 하는 것은 예정된 절차이며, 실패가 아닙니다.
