What TalkSmart does
Speaking practice with AI
You talk out loud with an AI partner: hold the button (or the space bar in the browser), speak, and the partner answers by voice while the transcript runs on screen. There are three partners with different styles — Mia (friendly), Victor (professional) and Leo (humorous). Modes:
- Conversation (about 10 minutes): free talk on a topic, with gentle corrections during the conversation.
- Role-play (about 7 minutes): 35 real-life scenes in 8 categories such as café, hotel, doctor and work. Corrections come in the report afterwards.
- IELTS Speaking mock: see below.
- Job interview (Pro): an AI interviewer asks field-specific questions with follow-ups, in 10 fields from software to aviation.
Every session ends with a report. Conversation and role-play get pronunciation, fluency and grammar scores (0–100) with corrected sentences; the interview gets a readiness level and action items.
IELTS Speaking mock test
About 10 minutes, a condensed version of the real 11–14 minute test: a Part 1 interview on three everyday topics, a Part 2 cue card with one minute of preparation and up to two minutes of speaking, and Part 3 discussion questions linked to the cue card. The examiner, Victor, asks one question at a time and does not correct or praise during the test. The report gives an estimated band for each of the four official criteria — Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, Pronunciation — and an overall band rounded the official way. Cue cards come from a bank of 45 topics in 7 themes. More in the IELTS Speaking mock test guide.
Grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening

- Reading with tap-to-translate and a personal word list.
- Writing feedback that explains mistakes in the learner's native language.
- Listening episodes at the learner's level.

What TalkSmart is not
- Not an exam provider. TalkSmart issues no certificates and is not affiliated with IELTS, the British Council, IDP, Cambridge, ETS, Pearson or Duolingo. All scores are AI estimates, not official results.
- Not related to other products with a similar name. Other apps, channels and companies called TalkSmart or Talk Smart exist and have nothing to do with this app. TalkSmart's only official addresses are talksmartapp.com, app.talksmartapp.com and the App Store listing “TalkSmart: Learn English AI” (id 6791968830).
